About the Writing Skills Room

 The Writing Skills room of the Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences will be located at Soshikan 307 (interphone: 4590). Here, research assistants (general staff) will be stationed and in charge of the following main duties.

  • Research assistance: support in writing research plans and various applications. Guidance in the content, form and expression of academic papers, research notes, reports, academic conference reports, and report handouts.
  • Duties Related to the Management/Planning of Symposiums/Research Conferences
  • The editing of research bulletin “Core Ethics”, editing of research reports, management of department website, and support for running graduate student projects.

 If you have any requests or questions regarding these issues, please feel free to visit the Writing Skills Room. We can also help you in your research in the following ways.

Inspection of Doctoral Theses

Inspection of Doctoral Theses At the Writing Skills Room, doctoral theses of graduate students of the Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences are filed and stored. Although we cannot make copies, they can be borrowed out by current students of the department and faculty. For more information, please ask a research assistant(sentan01@st.ritsumei.ac.jp).

Borrowing Books

 The Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences has a library of books in its possession. They may be borrowed under the following conditions:

  • Number of books: up to 10 per person
  • Term: one month
  • Eligible to: current members and alumni of Ritsumeikan University Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences
  • Eligible books: books that are listed on the“GP Book List
    * Books that are labeled by numbers of each library (General, Publicness, Life, Symbiosis, Representation).

Borrowing Equipment

 At the Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences, there support for graduate students to improve their research environment through the loaning of laptop computers and so on.
 The loaning of laptop computers (Panasonic “Let’s Note S9”), available mainly to international students, is aimed at helping graduate students improve their research environments. Besides computers, projectors for report presentations can also be borrowed. For more information, please contact a research assistant for use of laptop computers. For other requests, please contact the Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences office at 075-465-8348.

Notes about Borrowing Equipment

  • Equipment other than those kept in office, are managed in Writing Skills Room(However, application for equipment other than laptop computers must be made in the office) .li>
  • Equipment is loaned out on first come first serve basis, so please reserve in advance if you are sure you need to use something.

Interview Skills (Japanese Assistance / English Writing Asssitance)

 At the Writing Skills Room (Soshikan 307), English Thesis Assistants will be present along with the Research Assistant staff.
